Verse 26 When God directs us by
circumstances or by a friend, or by an
angel, Is it JuHt as much from Gd ax
though He spake to us direct?

how did I'lilllp know that the ItiiprcN

(Till question iiiiikI lie answerol in
writing by menilcr of the club.)
May any person who Is not playing
double wlthfGod, safely trust "the In
ward voice," to direct as to outward
clrcumatances?
Verse 27, 28 Philip found that he
had not come on a fool's errand; now
Is It not Invariably so, that results ofi
tomorrow, always Justify the faith
vision of today?
Seeing this Ethiopian was a man of
exalted position, In a foreign country,
what was the significance of Philip
being sent to him?
Verse 29 When Philip saw this
man's chariot looming up In the dis

waiting, with more or less doubt; he
ifot the lmp-:-lon that this was his
ipportiinity; now from whom did he

Yith what sort of a voice did the
Holy Spirit speak to Philip?

The Rewwil Gains Power.
The meeting at the First Baptist
church was strong last night. Audi
ence was large and attention most ser
ious. Tin1 s.-rnmn on "What Will Yom
Do Wit!' i n iit?" was most earnest
and tl.nr.xhtful. Tonight praise serv
ice at V::!0 and at 8 o'clock Mr. H.M
Iry speak on "Who Is on the
Lords Side?" Every man, woman
and child stands for or agiinst Christ.
Whose side are you on? The discus
sion wi!l he most helpful. Hear It.
Rev. W. H. Gibson, pastor.
Firvt Ilapllst Church.
In the revival meeting tonight Rev.
Mr. Railey will speak on "One of
Four; Wlileh?" At 9.4 5 tomorrow
morning the Sunday sehool. J. K. Ste
venson, superintendent. At 11 Mr.
Bailey's theme will bt "Angels to the
Rescue." At 6 SO Pastor Gibson will
conduct the young people's meeting
and speak on "The Gospel Railway,"
and at 7:30 Mr. Bailey will speak on
"The Heroic Queen." After the ser-
Spirit used the circumstances, and
Philip's reasoning processes, his hope
and" his fears, as God'a Voice, would
that be as really the voice of the Holy
Spirit, as If words were spoken by God
out of the clouds? ' ,
... ; it t!"vnyi -p.fo for w.-te !io. as
the Holy Spirit tells ns, as In t in case?
Verse 30 Was this Ethloplun a de
vout man?
If a man devoutly senrches the
Scriptures, Is he sure to find God?
If a man devoutly searches the book
of nature, with a desire to obey her
laws, Is he sure to find God?
Verses 31-34 Where In the ISIble Is
the paiisage whleh the Ethiopian was
reading?
is It always, necessary that some on
should explain the Scriptures to us?
Can we understand tho Scriptures
or get the full Import of any facf,
without the aid of the Holy Spirit,?
Why could not, or why did not.-she
Holy Spirit explain thls'crlpture to
the Ethiopian direct?
As a matter of fact, was not the
Holy Spirit guiding the Ethiopian fls
much as he was Philip?
Was Isaiah conscious when he wrote
these words, that they applied to Je
sus; or did he think that he was de
scribing some other person or persons?
Did not the prophets, as other in
spired men, often write more wisely
than they knew? i
Verses 35-33 Did this Ethlop!an
need "converting" the same as a wil
ful sinner, or did he,fs a devout child
of God, simply recognize Jesus as the
sent of God, find was then baptized In
his name? '
Verses 39, 40 Was Philip, so to
speak, "spirited" away, or did he leave
In a natural manner?
