student body of Weston Normal went
on record In a mnHs meeting held yes
terday to plead with the state and
ulumnl for funds with which to con
tinue the year'B work. Weston Is re
ported to have done all In Its power
and no longer feels like supporting a
state institution.

Since the Oregon state legislature
has not appropriated a sum for our
maintenance, during the next two
years, therefore be It
Resolved, That we, the student body
of the' Eastern- Oregon State Normal
school stand loyally by our school and
Its faculty, and do appeal to the peo
ple of the state of Oregon for their
assistance, until the legislature shall
appropriate funds for our further
maintenance.
Be It further resolved. That we, of
the student body, ask the alumni and
friends of the school to do all In their
power to Influence public opinion for
legislation In favor of the Normal
schools; bo It further

La Grande's hltfh school athletic

ern Oregon Athletic conference to be
held In this city next Friday and Sat
urday, by Joe Ingle and Joe William
son, two promtm-nt students In acad
emic and athletic circles. O. M. Mick

by the local school, which has the
