Letters have been written to Pen
dleton asking that Im Grande be given
the high school athletic conference
this month, when a complete set of
regulations are to be "drawn up and
adopted. Wh((. Pendleton took the
". 'initiative and is due much credit, still
it Is not In line with the best Interests
of all concerned, that the conference
be held In thut city. Im Grande Is the
central point. It is very evident that
it is not Justifiable to ask Ontario to
come to Pendleton when that delega
tion, and Baker City. too. can come to
Ln Grande much cheaper. Then, too,
there is Wallowa county, that could
not bo represented unless the delega
tion spent four days in making the
trip. To La Grande It could he done
In less than two days. There are four
high schools In Union county that
would be pinched to send delegates to
Pendleton, while to La Grande It
would be easy. It is really absurd to
send one set of delegates from Wal
lowa, one from Ontario, one from Ba
ker City and four from Union county
to an out-of-the-way place, when ex
penses might as well be divided as
evenly as possible.

DENTIST!
I came to the Grande Ronde Val-1
ley some months ago to give the j
people of this community the advant- i
age of reliable dental work at reason-:
able prices and I have found thut this
determination has been appreciated.
It is due every man that he get a
reasonable recompense for his work ;
and base my practice on that prin-:
ciple. My patrons shall receive the i
same consideration that I should ex-:
pect if I had occasion to employ a
Deniist. Very Respectfully j
