The trial of Charles Anderson,
charged with contempt of court has
been set for Tuesday evening.
The case of the State of Oregon vs.
Luelen Martin, which has been on the
docket for the past three years, where
in Martin was charged' with larceny
of a pair shoes, was dismissed today.
The principal witness In the case was
the late William Hancock.
The cost bill In the case of the
State vs. John Morrison estate was
'filed today, amounting to $479.60.
j An appeal In the case of Roy Oliver
, vs. Elchenberger, was perfected to
day. The plaintiff sued to recover on
jan account for 19, and received
i Judgment in the justice court for $120
'and costs, which were $47.95. The
' defendant Is appealing from this Jiulg-

An appeal from the Justice court has

Baumgartner vs. Herman Roosch.
The plaintiff secured a judgment In

Frank Holsteen Is the name of the
principal witness which the city has
for the pending case. Holsteen was
arrested this morning and "coughed
up", where he secured the liquor that
entangled his locomotion. Holsteen is
an Odd Fellow of good standing, has
worked at Kamela for several months,
has three honorable discharges from
the army and in many ways has cre
dentials of being, a respectable man.
However, he got drunk on what he al
leges to be Anderson's whisky. Hol
steen is also a member of the Knights
of Pythias, and has the appearance of
being a man of more than ordinary
Intelligence.
This afternoon the complaint against
Anderson was filed, and the papers
served.
