Section I. No person or persons
shall within the city of La Orande. dl
rectly or indirectly, by himself or by
another, sell, barter. dlpos of or de
liver, or permit to be sold, bartered
disposed of or delivered for him or
them or for h!a or their account or
use, any near beer, maltlna or other
malt beverage, except beer, ale or por
ter, in any quantity, without first ob
talnlng a license therefor as in thlf
ordinance provided, and the recorder
shall issue a license to any person or
persons desiring to sell, barter, dls
pose of or deliver near beer or malt
beverages within the city of Ia Grande
when such a person or persons shall
comply with the provisions of this or

terms of this ordinance only, and not
otherwise; provided, that nothing in
this ordinanee contained shall be held
to require any person or persons con
ducting or operating any brewery
within the. city of La Grande to pnv

Sec. 2. . Every person or persons
who desires or proposes to sell, bar
ter, dispose of or deliver m-ar beer

the premise'; where sold, bartered or

forth the location of the applicant's
place of business, the name or name?
of the applicants, the residence and
occupation of applicant during the
rear next preceding the date of such
application, and the names of at least
three reputable citizens of the city of
La Grande, as reference to the good
character of the applicant, which ap
plication shall be accompanied by a
good and sufficient bond, executed tc;
