is no' Immediate danger of washouts.

County Judge Kenry spent a portion
of yesterday at Perry, anticipating
high floods tnat might threaten the
new road and newiy constructed bulk
heads where the two bridges are being
discarded and the channel of the river
changed. He came away last evening
feeling confident mat there is no caus;
for alarm on that score. The second
bridge to be removed by the change
in channel, will be torn down early
this week and then the public will have
nothing to Indicate there ever were
two bridges below Perry.
Flood Slay Come Later.
Mountaineers report that the Chin
ook winds were not general at any
great altitude, and that much of the
snow In the higher mountains tribu
tary to the Grande Rondo river. Is still
Intact. This In a manner accounts
for the lack of flood waters. What
noticeable Increase In volume the
Grande Rondo may have. Is below the
Kan Into the valley. However, even
! that Is not a menace to the O. R. &
iX, tracks below Elgin,
