of the White Temple at Portland, Is
absent on an extended eastern trip, In
cluding Boston, New York, Philadel
phia, Cleveland, Chicago, and other
cities, in behalf of the Northern Bap
tist convention, which is to convene In
Portland on June 25. and will bring
from 2000 to 5000 prominent Baptist
laymen and preachers. Dr. Brougher
Includes a description of Oregon and
the Paclfc northwest In all his ad
dresses. The legislative committee of the
Oregon Good Roads conference held
their closing meeting last Saturday In
Portland, anil decided upon the bill
they are to present to the legislature.
