Trains arrive when they arrive, and
their arrival cannot be ascertained
until they get iw-re. When the coast
seems clear and Indications point to
arrival at such an hour, something
looms up on the stretch ahead to ruin
fond hopes and anticipations.

The eastbound train due here this
morning at 6:45 was annulled last eve
ning, never having left the Portland
terminal. A wreck at Biggs and the
severe snowstorms still raging are
given out as the causes of the annul
ment. It Is useless to hazard a guess
at the arrival of time of No. 2, the
other train from Portland today.

Yesterday the morning train due at
6:45, arrived at 4 o'clock In the af

ning, arrived at 5 o'clock this morn-

hours late.
