Word has been reeelved here telling
of the death of Fred Smart, which oc
curred at Washington some time ago.
Death was caused from appendicitis.
"Freddie" was a cripple and went to
school here last term, and his death
came as a shock to all who knew him.

spection In La Grande.
The O. R. & N. company has posted

for the line, extending from Hunting
ton to Umatilla. This system will In
