Earthquake Is given in lint announc
ed today, and shows a total of 14,-

Portland, Jan. 7. The board of re
gents of the Oregon Agricultural col
lege at Corvallls, last night at a meet
ing, asked for $170,000 with which to
erect new buildings, and add new
equipment. The college is growing so
fast that the present buildings are in
adequate.
In addition to this appropriation,
more than the customary maintenance
money will have to be appropriated by
the coming legislature.

row ledge above Bonlta Falls, Miss
Gladys Boneacre was rescued as she
was about to fall from exhaustion.
She is In a serious condition today. Her
plight was discovered by Douglas
Champion. Ha was lowered by a rope
which was fastened around her waist
and both were pulled up.

ry Sanborn and Loren Cogdlll, high
school boys who went hunting In a
canoe Tuesday, were abandoned to

bodies in the mud flat In the vicinity
of the Oyehut. There is considerable
mystery about the deaths. The tent
