Francisco Opera Company.
The opening performance of the
3an Francisco Opera company at the
Stewart opera house next Wednesday
night will Introduce Miss Frances Kel-i
log, in the title role of "Fantana. ' On
Thursday night she plays a romping
boy part similar to Jack Horner. She
Is- Peter, foreman of the workshop,
in "The Toy maker."
For the past five years Miss Kellog
has won much distinction, and an en
dearing place in the affection of opera
loving people, as leading soprano in
the forces of Henry W. Savage, Nixon
and Zimmerman, Aborn Production
Co., and other prominent New York
managers. Last season she was spe
cially featured in "The Gingerbread
Man," and created the role of "Jack
Horner." She Is a winsome sprightly
and captivating yeung woman, blessed
with a beautiful soprano voice, a dis
tinct and charming versatility, and a
keen apprehension of the -true ele
ments of aetir Her decided musical
ability, her pretty face lit up by a
pair of lovely intelligent eyes, and a
most fascinating smile, together with
a decidedly prepnsesslng figure, emi
nently fit her for the exacting position
of leading lady with the San Francisco
Opera company.

than admired, she Is beloved by her
auditors and has yet to receive her
first adverse criticism.

forthcoming, Union county will be in
a state of extreme apprehension.
