place of extraordinary interest. The
case started yesterday is still on trial.

The little Crossen boy, son of Oscar
Crossen of Cove, is convalescent at the

He has been suffering with typhoid

W. J. Snodgrass returned last eve
ning from British Columbia. During
his travels he went as far north as

The Van Duyn company today pre
sented The Observer with a beautiful
bunch of mistletoe. The above firm
has Just received a barrel from the
Willamette valley, where It grows to

To assist at the first concert given
by the Symphony orchestra of Walla
Walla, Miss Harriet Young, left yes
terday for that cify, where she will
accompany Miss Grace Young, mezzo

During the action of that famous
musical comedy, "Ltitle Johnny
Jones," which comes to the Steward
tonight, the liCene changes from a'
steamship pier at Southampton Eng-'

The Foresters last evening elected

The Lyric moving picture show has
suspended business. The doors were

have been made to make three shows
pay In thla city, but viewing the future

At the cooked food sale Saturday to
be held in the Frank Harris store; the
ladlea of the Methodist,, church will
have a good supply of home made
bread, baked boons, roast beef, mince

crashing Into vehicles that were pass
ing at the Junction of the two streets.
Last evening alone It was a turn of
good luck that several were not se
verely hurt or perhaps killed.-. ,
It Is time something was done for
bidding coasting on tne steep grace
which crosses a heavily traveled thor
oughfare as Fourth street Is. Some
child is going to meet Instant death or
be maimed for. life. If a vehicle Is
struck at the speed which the. coasters
attain-In coming down the hill.

and the pictures. The quartet U sure
getting gwod hands and every one
