Editor Buys Wheat Land.
Editor B. E. Kennedy, of the Baker
City Herald, has Just returned from
a week'Bs visit to the Alberta wheat
district in company with Jonathan
Johnston of this city, and was so well
pleased with the outlook of that coun
try that he purchased a half section
of wheat land as an Investment. He
found hundreds of Americans going
into the country and vast improve
ments being made by settlers on the
Canadian Pacific tract. The party
with which Mr. Kennedy went from
this city purchased about six sections
of land as follows: George Warbur-
ton, one section; L. G. Frazier and
Corby brothers, by Bert Huffman, one
section; John Dand, through Jonathan
Johnston, two sections; C. L. Godwin,
half section, and William J. Bell of
Cabbage Hill, half section. Pendleton
