"Sam Jones Memorlnl Day" will be ob
served tomorrow by all the churches
and young people's societies at the
Methodist Episcopal church, South.
Each of the 9000 Epworth ' Leagues
embraced in thaj,' great body will do
Its part In raising the funds needed for
the. Sam. Jones monument which is
destined to stand before the new St.
Luke's church in Oklahoma City. It
will be erected as a fitting tribute
from the young people of the Metho
dist Episcopal church, South, to Sam
P. Jones, the famous revivalist, to
whose credit It Is said that he had
preached to more people than any
other minister and that he . was the
greatest satirist the pulpit ever had.

when a purchase made by the school

stalled and ready for work. A careful
test was given the fire " escapes last
Wednesday evening, and the board
feels safe in making the purchase.
The escapes are made of canvas, and
so arranged that when fire breaks out

the gradual incline to the ground from
the second floor with perfect compos
ure and without possibility if Injury.
The equipment was badly needed, al
though it Is hoped It will 'never have
to be brought into service.
