The supreme court has, handed down
Its decision In the case of the State
of Oregon vs. In.' Vf. Deal, who . was
convicted of horse stealing In this
county. He was tiled in Pendleton
where he secured a change of venue
from this county. , He was sentenced
to'serve tree years In the penitentiary.
From this he appealed to the supreme
court, asking for a new trial. This
has been denied and within the next
few weeks the mandate will be re
ceived from the clerk of the court re
manding him into the hands of : the
sheriff, to be taken to the penltentlaty.
