' tomorrow to see the- O. A. ('.-Oregon
. gamo In Portland, The excursion train
has beenmade up and stands on the
Bide track In the local yards. It con
: ulsts of an engine and 18 coaches,- all
decorated with a profusion of yellow
and green, the colors of the universi
ty. The words, "University of Ore
gon," are' spelled out In large yellow
letters, one letter lining placed on each
of the IS cars, Practically the entire
Ktudeut nidy and hundreds of town
puoplo will go on the excursion train,
which will leave Eugene at 7:10. to
morrow morning. A hugi? college 8eal
is on (he front of the engine, with the
university motto, "Men's agltat mo
lem," which for this occasion, freely
translated, means, "neat O. A. C."
Not Confident of Victory. '
Pplendid college spirit Is prompting
the attendance at the Portland game
of such a crowd. Tb'A students and
the team Itself are by no means con
fident of victory, and are hoping for
any favorable score, however small.
The team Js in excellent condition, and
is not at all disheartened by the two
recent defeats, although they admit
that O. A. C. has all the chances when
comparative scores are considered, be
side the advantage of seven veterans
on the team and a light schedule.
Pinkham can be depended upon to
stop everything tnrough the left side
of the line. Clarke and Wolfe will be
seen against each other In another but
tle of the giants when it conies to
punting. What the redoubtable Jam
ison can do through the line of the
'varsjty Is yet to be seen. Moullen and
Wolf are the place kickers for the two
teams, Moiillcn. the Oregon captain,
has more place kicks to his credit than
any other player In the history of the
college northwefst. . In the Idaho game
he broke the world'a record for dis
tance place kick, and "varsity's ball
anywhere near the center of the field
may mean a score. , .
Great Interest In Portland.
Interest In Portland Is high and the
sentiment of the Portland people Is
evident from the fact that seven out
of 10 buying tickets ask for seats near
t
the university rooters. Ail indications
point toward the fiercest game ever
played In Portland, with the odds
greatly in favor of O. A. C.
