EXTRA HEAVY BUSINESS.
Fruit, Lumber and Coal Shipments
Congest Local Yards. ,
Seldom during the strenuous three
months of rushing business Just passed
has there been more work for the O.
R. & N. at this point than today. Two
switch engines are "kept on the Jump"
continually to keep things moving
properly, and main line trains are both
long and numerous.
Fruit, lumber and coal shipments
are the cause of the big rush. There
Is a shortage of coal everywhere, even
noticeable In railroad circles at La
Grande. Fruit, too, has to be moved
promptly". This, combined with the
local freight business that Is
also1
heavy, keeps things moving lively.

Christianity has lifted women to a
new place In the world. And Just In
proportion as Christianity has sway,
will she rise to a higher dignity In hu
man life. What she has now, and all
honor, she owes to that gospolj which
took those qualities, which had been
counted weak and. unworthy, and gave
them a-dlv lne glory in Christ. Herlck
