A New England dinner party that
win long remain' a delightful memory
to those present, was given by Mr.
and Mrs. A. T, Hill on Hallowe'en, at
their home on Third sti';et. The dec
orations were artistic and appropriate..
Red, apples were, festooned about the
rooms and Jaek-o'-lanterns ' peered
curiously from dim corners, . ;
The long table, laden after the old
New England fashion, with a boun
teous feast, presented a sight suggest
ive of fairy land. As a reminder of
the season when witches walk abroad,
the centerpiece was a lnrge black cat,
that seemed to beam with satisfaction
upon 21 of her descendants. These

ribbons the names of the guests to
mark their places.
The mantle of senulne old-time hos

upon the charming hostess and genial
host; as they graciously presided.
Later In the evening there were
games, fortunes and various surprises.
Only after the clock in the corner
had repeatedly insisted that It was
time to depart. Was the warning re

Juvenile Party. ,
. The Misses Oertrude Halley and
Laverne Wlssler gave a Hallowe'en
party to a number of their friends at
the Wlssler home on Adams avenue
Saturday evening. To say the young
people enjoyed every moment to the
fullest, with their ghostly pranks,
would be to express it mildly. A cran
berry frolic added much to the eve
ning's amusement. The decorations
of the house and table, under the skill
ed" direction of Mrs. Wlssler. and Mrs.
E; L. Halley, were Indeed beautiful.
Autumn leaves being extensively used.
A dainty three-course luncheon was
served, the table being lighted with
colored tapers, set in apples. The
place cards were black cuts, while
owls and Jack-o'-lanterns kept guard
at each end of1 the table.'...
