SEEK CLUB FARM.
; Suitable for On-hard to a Club. .
! A party of Pennsylvania are seek
ing a location for a club fruit farm In
Union county. In a private letter they
ask the following: ,
"An article In the Morning Ore
gonlan has been sent me. from Issue
of January 1, 1908. I am interested
In apple and pear lands. A club is
being formed here to buy a tract of
160 to 600 acres suitable for the cul
tivation of such fruit. We want un
improved, cheap land of the best
grade, which is similar to that which
has been successfully used for such
purposes. It must not be too far
from a railroad, but may be somewhat
In advance of development. We want
to arrange for monthly payments, ex
tending over a period of four to five
years.
"If you know of any parties holding
such land for snle. will you be good
enough to put me in touch with them?
I would, moreover, be obliged for any
Information along' these, linos which
you may care to furnish me.
"Are there not logged -vef lands
which will adapt themselves perfectly
to this purpose after being cleared,
which can be bought cheaply? Is
such soil appropriate to such fruits?"
. If any of our readers knows of any
thing that is likely to fit the require
ments, addresses and information can
be left with the Observer, where it
will be forwarded to the parties.

CASE ON TRIAL.
Attorneys Making Their Final Argu
ments In Riot Case.
The attorneys In the case of the
State against four Greek railroad la
borers, charged with riot, are making
their final arguments and the case
will go to the. Jury about 4 o'clock.
From the evidence It seems that a
man by the name of Hamilton, time
keeper and interpreter, reported to the
railroad company that the four de
fendants were shirking their duty, and
when the order arrived for their dis
charge they made a protest In the
way of a "demonstration wherein a re
volver, rifle and sticks and stones
were used along with threats. This
racket or riot was kept up-' for a
