A DELIGHTTTIi EVENING.
Order of Hebekahs Hnil a Great Social
Time iJist Nhrht. -
Rebekah Crystal Lodge No 31, had
a most enjoyable time last evening. It
was social night, and the attendance
as usual upon such occasions was most
gratifying. A banquet was served by
the ladles and it is needless to ay
that the gentlemen friends enjoyed
this feature especially. During the
evening the political situation was dis
cussed and a straw vote was taken to
decide matters, , resulting In 89 -for
Taft, 17 for Bryan, 5 for Chafln and
2 for Debs. , '
Basketball Leagne at Pendleton.
Members of the Commercial club
committee In charge of the gymnasium
of the association are considering a
proposition of employing a physical
director to take charge of the gymna
sium for the winter, says the Pendle
ton Tribune. While plans are not def
initely announced It is probable that
a canvass will be made to ascertain
how many men will Join classes so that
definite preparations may be made. ,
If the work is taken up a city basket
ball team will probably be organized
and trained. This will give Pendleton
three good basketball teams so that a
