Preliminary reports on this matter In dicate that a large block of the total requirement the 20,000 acres will be subscribed at that time. As is known, - the valley has been divided Into. three sections and members of each of the three committees are hur rying to their task that the work may be finished by one week from Satur day, Already the list has grown to pleasing proportions, but there is yet work to do that will require more than a week's time. Even at that . date utbt. The committees undertook a gigan tic task and with every member of these committees busy men along In dividual lines, they cannot throw away personal .Interests entirely. Hence the slow but certain progress. J. D, McKennon is now in Boise, where he will confer. with men who own land In this valley. This In a measure tells the story of how the committees have to seek out the owner of certain tracts of land that lie in the path of the ditch,' necessitating much time and ef fort. SMITH ' Senator Cured Osteopath ioolly. A Washington dispatch of recent date states that Senator Money of Mis sissippi, recently went under osteo pathlc treatment and has been very much surprised at the findings of his new doctor. ' . ' ' It seems that the senator, then . a cavalryman In the service of the Con federate states, was wounded and thrown from his horse at the first bat tle of Franklin. His head struck the ground violently. For very many years Senator Money has been a suf ferer from neuralgia,' and It now seems clear that the trouble had Its original cause In that war-time fall, ,.' ., At any rate, when the senator re cently Consulted an osteopathic phy sician, which he did upon the advice of Senator Foraker of Ohio, It. was discovered that he was suffering from a mal-adjustment of the vertebrae of the neck. These vertebrae had evi dently been forced out of position by some violent accident, as the displace ment was very pronounced. (Some of the newspapers even declared, news paper style, that .Senator Money had eclearly been getting about for years with "a broken neck." It Is now plain that the neuralgia was entirely due to the mis-adjustment of the vertebrae, for speedy re lief came when the manipulative work of the osteopath restored them to their normal places, and Senator Money is now In a fair way to be permanently cured of this ailment from which he has suffered for so many years.- He had, of course, tried many ways pre viously In the hope of securing relief, but the real cause of the trouble that mis-adjustment of the neck vertebrae had escaped the notice of all his other physicians. How did such a condition cause neu ralgia? The answer is simplicity it self. The misplaced bony parts caused pressure upon certain nerves, with consequent nerve suffering, which Is neuralgia. As soon as the pressure upon the nerves was removed by re adjustment, the neuralgic condition began to disappear; for, in a human body which has any considerable de gree of vitality left, It is a difficult matter for any ailment to continue very long after its cause has been re moved. Incidentally it may be noted that Senator Foraker, who suggested os topathy to Senator Money, was one of the very early advocates of osteo pathic treatment. Members of hlo family derived vast benefits from It and the Ohio statesman has ever since continued to be one of the etaunchest supporters of the new system of heul- Ing. The Right Way.
