Of COAL IRE
The first carload of commercial coal
to arrive in La Grande, came today j
and put a temporary .end to the coal;
famine that has existed for the past
month. Though there Is only one'ear
of the fuel, shipped to the Grande !
Ronde Cash company, It gives evidence
of relief and that more will be com
ing shortly. The Amalgamated Sugar
company also received a carload for
private use yesterday. Thus Is given
double assurance tTlat the coal Is mov
ing towards eastern Oregon.
The railroad coal bins are amply
supplied at present and the bins are
beginning to show signs of v storage
supply. '

shall be made In writing, verified by
the oath of the applicant or his attor
ney, and be filed with the board dur
ing the first week it Is by law required
to be in session, and any petition or
explication not so made, verified, and
filed, shall not be considered or acted
upon by the board." (Chapter 266,
