Yesterday there was closed an Im
portant deal In bank stock in this city
wherein X. C. Haskell bought the
stock of J. K. Romlg In the Citizens'
National bank, and Mr. Romlg ten
dered his resignation as a" director,
and Mr. Haskell was elected In his
stead, says a Baker City paper. This
will operate to the Interest of the
bank, no doubt, for Mr. Haskell Is one
of the most enthusiastic Bakerites,
giving, perhaps, more time to the
building up of the Interests of the city
than any other one man. He Is on the
boards, and In organizations which
consume time, working for the ad
vancement of Baker. The Citizens'
bank will feel the Impetus his connec
tion will give It.
