On net Saturday afternoon between
2 and 4 -o'clock, the sugar company
will place its employes In the day and
night shifts, as the case may be, and
final arrangements mado for starting
the factory on Us continuous run until
the beet crop Is converted into sugar.
The large force of men is handled with
the strictest attention to detail, and,
annually, a day or two before the fac
tory starts, every applicant for a po
sition In the factory, appears at the
office and is listed or placed in one of
the two shifts. This will be dona on
Saturday afternoon, and all applicants
for positions should be on hand at that
time. ' -
What Factory Sloans.
From a cash disbursement stand
point, the sugar factory means thous
ands to the county. While its annual
payroll averages $12,000 per month,
the three months In which the factory
is run, see the ependlture of about
$85,000. During the late winter
months, the roll Is reduced some, leav
ing a general average of $12,000 for
the entire year.
