Union coilnty, Oregon, and that the
polls will be open from the hour of 9
o'clock a. m., until the hour of five
o'clock p. m of said day.

district fair opened this morning with
a bumper attendance. Everything
points to a record-breaking - affair
from an attendance standpoint, and
the general exhibits are first-class.
Following is the program for the six
days which the' fair lasts:

terminus of the Sumpter Valley road,
from where they drive by rapid
stages through the wilds of Harney
county, a distance of 800 miles. The
proposed road will be a connecting
link between the new Harrtman road
in central Oregon and the proposed
Gould transcontinental line. When
completed for It Is practically cer
tain that it will be It will run through
Harney county, touching Nevada,
though the southern terminus Is not
yet announced. It will be a contlnu
atlon of the Sumpter Valley road.
