rived this morning, and after calling
upon a number of representative citi
zens, were driven over the valley t In
an auto by Senator Pierce, who Is one
of the regents of the Agricultural
college, and they are visiting the ex
periment station at Union this after
noon. ! .
The object of the visit, states Pres
ident Kerr, is to be in a, position to
make an intelligent report toUlt board
of regents later, with a vlewT'to' estab
lishing at least two more experiment
stations In eastern Oregon. Mr.
Pierce took the party out ' onto the
sindrldge, where he hopes the expert
ment station in this county will make
r number of scientific : experiments
demonstrating what crops to grow on
our fallow land
These same officials have visited
Sherman and Umatilla counties, and
will doubtless recommend that cxper
imcnts be made along scientific lines
