As the climax of several weeks of
observation on the part of the officers
of this city, a plan was made, and at
Just 10 o'clock last night, a company
of two two deputy sheriffs, two of the
city police and several deputized citi
zens stole out of the district atotrney's
office and one offllcal took his stand
at the door of each of the 'suspected
saloons. At the appointed, hour a
raid was made simultaneously and
bottles were secured and the bar
tenders and proprietors In each of the
suspected places were arrested.
... In the Justice court rooms there
was soon a line of 21 loudly smelling
bottles lined up. : Each of the arrow
ed men gave a 5250 bond and was re
leased to appear before Justice Parkes
at 1:30 p. rn. next Tuesday. j
The saloons searched wero the
Brewery saloon, Matlock's, the Da
mon, Sullvtan's, Tom Moffat's., and
Tom Murrcll's. The other bars of the
city have not been undfr suspicion and
were not searched. The contents of
the bottles will h . "')T?,

written so that they may be used as
evidence in the trial next Tuesday.
