The city council met In adjourned
session last nig lit-for the purpose prin
cipally of taking final action on the
proposed new charter. Owing to the
absence of City Attorney Baker, who
is In Portland, where he took his son
to the hospital, action was deferred
until the next regular meeting.
Bids for the no-v cement sidewalks
were rejected and another, call Cat
bids will be made.
A cross walk, was ordered In on
Adams avenue on the west side of Fir
street. This walk may be constructed
of either cement, stone or brick. The
street committee has not as yet de
cided. The next meeting will be the first
Wednesday In September. .
Fred Braden of Ladd creek, states
thill this kind of weather Is Just the
thing for tomatoes and that he may
hnve some In the market next week.
The funeral of the late M. 8. Chan
dler took place this afternoon from
Central Church. of Christ, Rev. O. H.
