Irregularities la Justice Court Pro
ceedings. " ,
The J. E. Stevenson case, which has
twice been In the Justice court, was
once more the subject of animated
arguments yesterday afternoon before
Circuit Judge Knowles. . It was, this
time, In the nature of a review of the
legality of, the lower court's decision
In which Stevenson was fined $125 for
practicing dentistry without a license.
attorneys Cochran & Cochran argued
for the plaintiff to have the decision
set aside, claiming irregularities In the
ni-noeenlnem. while District . Attorney
Ivanhoe represented the state.
Judge Knowles took the matter un
der advisement and will hand down a
decision on the matter In a week or

Opening a Big Event. ,
The big opening at the Pastime
last .evening was well attended. The
music aided much In making the af
fair an entertaining one. Thecrowde
were well pleased with the splendid
leurrungement of tho house that hat
:.uiut il much more convenient for
the patrons. The program Is extra
long this time and worth much more
than the admission price..
The Scenic.
Humor and thrillers Intermingle at
the Scenic. The management put on
a fine program last evening and It
III- bo seen aguln tonight for the
Inst time. Tho Scenic is enjoying a
good run and Is trying to give Its
patrons more than their money's
worth. Patrons should see the pres
ent program before a change takes
place.
' At the Sherwood's Electric.
Though there are some remurkable
pictures In 'the "Indian's Gratitude,"
at the Sherwood Electric, there Is
another film which teems with spec
tacular views and that Is a "Cum
bersome Baby." This film Is dis
tinctly humorous and calls for a gasp
of breath at some particularly thrill
ing scene and Immediately turns Into
a laugh at the next turn of the wheel.
Three crowed houses heard the sing
ing of tha popular songs and saw
the excellent program last evening.
The feu lure story Is a beautiful thing
and Is true to life. It Is the story of
an Indian wronged but who over
looks the suspicion which fulls on
him and comes to the rescue of his
offender later on.

home team a drubbing by the score of

Valley avenue grounds, before a falr
slzed audience of faithful fans. Both
teams were badly crippled but the
husky bunch from Cove proved to be
there with the stick and the way they
slammed Palmer's offerings all over
the lot made the tender-hearted weep.
In the very first chapter the visitors

letes started the fireworks, making
three runs and the fans settled back In
their seats expecting to see a good ball
game, but their pleasant thoughts
were soon shattered, for in the fourth
the visitors gathered five more to their
credit. With three men on bases F.
Mires leaned against a choice one for
a single, scoring two. Palmer hit Al

were once more full. Two more sin

game gradually but surely was turned
into a comedy of errors. After Baker
