The district known as Mian Eagle
In Baker county. Is said to be the only
place In the United States where the
original Ibex can be found. Today W,
R. and Carl Parker, Ed Cranston and
Tom Helsel returned from that part
of the country and reported having
killed three Ibex and seen many more.
They also found plenty of trout and
enjoyed their outing very much. Ac
cording to history the Ibex has be
come practically extinct in all coun
tries save a few In the United States,
and they have never been found only
In eastern Oregon, and a few which

Edward H. Harrlman, railroad mag
nate, wants to talk about the long de
layed extension of his system Into and
through Central Oregon says the
Portland Journal. Therefore he has

Into the central Oregon country, and
James P. O'Brien, general manager of
the Harrlman lines, to make'a trip to
Pelican Bay to talk the matter ver.
The three men will leave Friday, will
go to Shanlko by train and from there
to Pelican Bay on Klamath lake bysl
automobile. The trip there and back.
It Is expected, will take about seven
days.
General Manager O'Brien received a
telegram yesterday from Mr. Harrl
man asking that Invitations be ex
tended to Governor Chamberlain and
Mr. Stanley to accompany him on the
visit to Pelclan Bay. In accordance
with this It Is now planned to start on
Friday.
Mr. O'Brien claims that there Is
nothljig ot particular Interest attach
lng to the trip. . He does not know,
he says, what la going to be talked
about when the party reaches the
summer home of Mr. Harrlman out In
the electric-lighted wilds of Klamath
county.
