In trouble again, La Grande will re

who tor a time occupied the pulpit In
the Methodist church, Bouth, in this
city. At that time he posed as , a
preacher, barrister, .. traveler, ; pen
pusher, writer, poet, lecture of some
note and a graduate of Dublin college,
Ireland.,, He left La Grande without
Any particular cloud, of suspicion, but
since , he has been. In other parts of
the northwest, suspicion has followed
him everywhere. He is now at Star
buck, and the following letter from
the postmaster at that place, divulges
the fact that the citizens of that com
munity are not particularly attached
to the man:

Dear Sir; I have been . Informed
that you know something about the
transactions of one M, A. FiUmaurlce.
We have him with us now, and I am
attempting to expose him as a grafter
that I know him to be, and then stop
his living off of honest men. . He is
trying to' practice law here, and also
edit a paper here and at' Pomoroy. If
you feel that you or your people over
there can give me any Information that
will assist me, I would be very much
pleased to have it. .

made their abode in La Grande for
about, two weeks, took their departure
today for Boise. While In La Grande
they report having had a lucrative

dowed with a greater amount of hon
esty than the ordinary man of his na
tty lty. Last night he spent several
hours searching for the editors of The
Observer that he might pay a small
bill which he was Indebted to The Ob
server. Unable to do so, he left the
money with Mr. Bohnenkamp at a late
hour last night.
