original with the La Grande students,
yet some of the representatives of the
schools will be In attendance, and their
display outfit will be on exhibition.
In addition to this each student is re
quested to bring one drawing or writ
ten lesson. These will be arranged
for exhibition by the committee on
decoration, and will be returned to the
student at the close of the evening, It
Is expected that each student will In
vite a lady friend or an Interested gen
tleman friend, except, of course, that
each lady student is at liberty to iavlte
a gentleman friend, the friend may be
a member of the student's own family
or of some other family. The tntor

each student, but owing to the diffi
culty of getting a complete list, and to
the fact that new names are constant
ly being added, it may be that some
will be overlooked, but it Is expected

A New England Conference of the
Christian Socialist Fellowship was
commenced today on the camp meet
ing grounds here, with many clerical
disciples of Marx In attendance. The
Rev. Dr. John D. Long, of the fash
ionable Parkslde Presbyterian church
Brooklyn, Is the leader In the move
ment for organizing the socialist cler
gy. Dr. Long states that since March
when he undertook the work of or
ganizing the socialist ministers oT the
country, his list of those at least sym
pathetic with the movement has grown
until he has now approximately 1500
names. He expects by Labor day,
when, with the names signed to It, the
Ministers' Manifesto will be .given to
the press, to have at least 1000 signs
turea for publication.
