The Barnum & Bailey Greatest Show
on Earth will arrive In La Grande
early tomorrow morning on "its five
long trains and pitch Its 14 acres of
tents. The first section, bearing the
hotel outfit, is expected shortly after
midnight. ' ; ..
The first event of interest tomorrow
morning will be the newly established
parade, on a grander scale than ever
before given, three times as long and
10 times as costly. The parade will
leave the show grounds at 10 o'clock
and pass over the usual route. In It
alone will be seen 1500 people, TOO
horses and hundreds of strange ant
mals displayed In open dens. The pa
rade was built in Europe and has been
described In cities where the show has
appeared this seaauu m luif i4.Mi ever
seen and something entirely different
from the usual.
The program under the big tent will
be one of great novelty, presented by
European talent new ) to America.
There Is a new and brilliant spectacle
to begin the bill and a world of novel
ties to follow It. The trained animal
features are the best ever presented in
this country and the new thriller,
"Autos that Pass in the Air," Is the
most thrilling and startling act ever
seen In any age. ' ,
The menagerie this season is un
usually attractive, presenting marry
pew specimens never before exhibited
here. The entire show Is in new dress,
the tents and properties are all new
and the equipment presents a most at
tractive appearance. During the
opening engagement at the Madison
Square .Garden, New York city, Its
vast Improvement was the' subject of
much comment. . The engagement
there was the most successful of any
ver held In the garden. " '
Many visitors have, already arrived
In the city awaiting the coming of the
show and the two performances to-1
morrow will probably be played to ca
pacity. The Barnum & Bailey circus
has always been looked upon as the
greatest in the world and , probably
will be so considered. Thos who wish
to avoid the rush at the ticket wagons
can buy reserved seats and admissions
all day tomorrow at regular prices at
SUverthorn & Mack's drug store.

Threw Features).
The Sherwood Electric announces a
strong bill for the week opening.
Chief among the three features is "For
the Sake of a Crown." This attraction
Is a top-notcher. With It, as the feat
ure, are the "Spirit of '76" and "The
New Maid." AH of these are gnod
pieces. Mr. Ferrln hopes to be able
to again taks charge of the singing
tonight. The "Astrahkan Fisheries"
are not repeated, but different from
those seen recently.
"Armm the Plains."
CrnsHlng the plains In '49, with all
Its harrowing Incidents, Is pictured by
moving pictures at the Scenic this
time. The proprietor, Mr. Oardlnler,
announces this as one of the strong
rwt films ho has yet produced. The
story relates of a family headed for
the OoluVn West, but is overtaken by
Indians and all but a girl are killed or
wounded. The father revives and
reaches the camp of Kit Carson, where
he fully recovers. The eventual es
cape of the girl from the . Indians Is
thrilling. Two comic attractions are
Included In the show and both are
good, say those who have been them
In advance.
A besutlful Woman la rarely clovjr,

The Central reports cherry ship
ments at lbs top notch this week, an
average of a car a day going out over
the line. Up to Wednesday the record
had been broken, six cars having been
shipped for tha week up to that time.
This Is especially gratifying, as tha
outlook for tha sals of cherries earlier
la tha season was not encouraging.
