Rynraron 'Wheat Field Ifiw Remark
able Ewape Froa,Hro Sunday.
A careless camper, a lighted match
no wind, a wheat field and a team
played Important parts In a fire at the
Wm. Ttynearaun farm Just outside of
the city yesterday, that ended fortun
ately for the Rynearsons. A party of
campers came down Irom the hills and
stopped to rest at the roadside near a
rail fence that enclosed an 80-acre
wheat farm belonging to William Ry-
nearson. One of the men dropped a
lighted match which Ignited some hay
in the bottom of the wagon. " A blaze
quickly followed.. Before It was mas
tered. It had sent the wagon box up In
smoke, had started the team on a wild
run with the saved portion of the ve
hicle, and had spread to the rail fence.
The campers, aided by the Rynearson
family, and some neighbors who hap
pened by, fought the flame heroically.
Because of the dry condition of the
fence and the grain growing alongside,
the fight was a fierce one. A large
portion of the fence was consumed,

light wind In the right direction would
have spread the flames despite what
the small corps of fighters could have
done. Men from the Rynearson home
kept colse vigil all last night, lest
spark should restart the flamea.

Manager Wilson takes pleasure In
announcing his bill for this evening,
believing that he has secured one of
the strongest motion picture bills ever
presented to a La Grande public.
The leading number Is the great
Irish legend, Shamus O'Brien. The
public Is too well acquainted with thl
historic Irish legend to need any ex
tended description, other than to say
the poem which this number illus
trates deals with the English oppres
sion of the Irish and Is one which few
can read without - being moved to
tears.
The other numbers are all good, and
the songs both sentimental and patri
otic. Mr. Wilson says thl is the best
program he has yet been able to offer.
