Circus Full of Fun,
If a good laugh la better than me It
cine a visit to the Barnum & Ballsy
greatest show on earth Is as beneficial
-raW In mtr fond sani
tarium, for there are more laughs to
be enjoyed in the three hours the per
formance lasts than usually come to h
man In a lifetime.
There are (0 clowns ever on the
lookout for mischief and not a one of
them has to resort' to the worn-out
methods used in other circuses to
move .the audience to laughter. Be
side the American contingent of mer
ry men there Is a company of Euro
peans .buffoons, each with his own
and original box of tricks. There ia
no resisting them. The most abject
"sore-head"-becomes hilariously good
humored In their presence. .'
' A funny airship stunt, the exploding
automobile, the North Pole expedi
tion, Paderewsky and the barber, the
trip to Mars and scores of othr
laughable specialties .keep the audi
ence in coustant fits of merriment.
The Barnum & Bailey show has al
ways taken the lead in its original and
superior methods of clowning as well
as in the other features of circus en
tertainment This season It has more
and better clowns than ever. ,

Took Passage Thla Morning for Idaho
Had Better Not Return.
Joule Palmer, the notorious Josle,
who has been the cause of the death
of two men, one In La Grande several
years ago, and one In California, and
over whose head at this time stands
a seven rear sentence In the Oregon
penitentiary, out on parole, left this
morning ror Idaho, with the distinct
understanding that should she return
to the state, steps would be taken to
have her parole waived, and she would
be taken to Salem. W hop that the
climate of our sister state wilt reform
this misdirected, misspent : life, - and
what appears to be our gain will also
result In her gain.
At the Pastime.
. At thla popular amusement place
tonight you will laugh at the stage
fright of the super who makes his de
but, and when the convicts escape you
may forget that your are looking only
at pictures. There are three long
films, each with three set of pic
tures, and some of them are funny.
Mr. Davis will sing, "There is Room
For Us All In the Trolley," and "My
Carolina Lady."
