Last Night Evidently Amateurs.
Between the hours of S and 10 last
night, aome one broke into the resi
dence of L. Remlllard, at the corner
of Fourth street and Main avenue,
and ransacked practically the whole
house, turning out bureau and dresser
drawers, breaking open trunks and ev
idently overlooking no place where
valuables could be hidden; although
missing some money belonging to Mr.
Sherwood, of the Electric theater.
Mrs. Edmunds lost a valuable gold
watch, hnd Jess Harrington, who with
his wife is visiting the Remlllards,
mlssod' his purse, which contained a
diamond stud and some money about
$30. The criminals havd not yet been
apprehended, although the officers
believe they will be able to catch them
In a short time. The work was evi
dently done by amateurs.
