Farmers Suffer Heavily From Storm.
During ibe recent storm, five of the
largest grain fluids In the vicinity of
Tygh ridge were damaged by a hall
storm of unusual vldlonce. These were
those of Messrs. ,L. Bondeau, William
Hunter, Owen Jones, Trudell & Den
nis and E. Aanderson, and situated on
the summit cf Tygh ridge. The storm
swept across the Pes Chutes divide.
It Is said, by those in the city yesterday
from that district, leaving hall stones
an inch In diameter, and that many
drifts of hailstones were a foot deep
in the gulleys. The grain was crushed
to the ground, and It Is feared that
the crops so Injured Will be a full
loss. North and west of the hall belt
the only damage done was' from the
rush of water down the canyons,
where In some Instances, small build
ings were swept away, and whatever
could be moved and In the path of
the storm was carried down with the
waters. Aside from this the crops
wee uninjured by the rain and, there
was no large loss of stock. The Dalles

Kllllluy Goes to Wallace.
Ed Klllllay, who was a member of
the Walla Walla league team, left this
afternoon for Wallace, Idaho, where
he will play with the strong club of
that city as a member pf ther pitch
ing corps. Kll should have little trou
ble In retaining a permanent berth
with the Wallace aggregation, as he
has plenty of foolers and lots of
smoke. If needed he will prove a
strong man In the outfield, too, gath
ering In, as he does, all kinds of files
and In addition Is quite humly with
the willow. Walla Walla Bulletin.
