Youthf at Forger Given Two-Year Sen
tence) With Conditional Freedom.
Louis P. Mettle, youthful check
forger, was released from the county
Jail today after having been given a
parole by Judge Bean. He first plead
ed guilty to the charge against him.
Judge Bean then Imposed a sentence
of two years In the penitentiary, but
said he would permit of a parole un
der which the boy will have his free
dom during good behavior. t
Should he get into further trouble
he will have to serve out the two
years' sentence. The parole was given
In consideration of the boy" extreme
youth, he being less than IS years of
age. ;

A prominent man of this city, who

I conquered." Not only were the fair
damsels conquered, but the coyotes In
the hills raised their voices In songs
of praise and fell Into line with the
procession of admirers. Someone was
heard to mildly suggest that perhaps
the chickens and other things that
coyotes are fond of might have been
the attraction as far as the animals
were concerned, , but , the maidens
well, who knows? His number was

ance was a creditable one. as a whole,
while the dancing was excellent; In
fact, the best seen In Lead for many
months. There are nine people In the
company and they keep busy all the
time. Those who attended last eve
ning were well satisfied. Black Hills
