week from tomorrow Union will see an
exciting relay race' and a 'horse show
of no small worth. , The relay race to
the topic of the week here and bets
are already beginning to accumulate.
The method and system to be used to

Three strings of horses of 10 animals
each, are entered. Each, horse' goes
one-half mile, the same rider to run

The Baker City Herald says: Yes
terday afternoon Dan Kelly, sr., re
ceived a telegram from his son, Dan,
who to at present In New York, telling
him that he had been chosen for the
Olympic team. This news Is .very
sweet to the ears of Dan's host of ad
mirers and friends. The following to
