Because Manager Hosier of the Ba
ker City club desired to hold the Walla
Walla team there' for a double headed
series, It has become necensary . to
postpone the opening with Walla Wal
la here from today until tomorrow.
The postponement does not affect the
number if games to be played with the
Garden City aggregation, however,- as
the series will not close' until Mon
day evening, rather than Sunday as It
would under the original schedule.
The Walla Walla team reaches here
tonight and will be ready to open to
morrow afternoon at t o'clock,
llione at Park.
The Pacific Telephone company will
install a desk 'phone at the press box
In the park at once,' and after that is
done, the dally papers of the city can
keep In touch with the games, from
Inning to inning. The central office
will not make connections with the
park for any other party than a rep
