Ed Kiddle of laland City, has been
extended high honors in the Masonic
circles of the state. The much-sought
for position Is a high one, and the
Island City capitalist has reason to
feel elated over his popularity Ma
sonic circles. The Oregonlan of yes
terday morning, in speaking of the
election and grand lodge, says:
Edward Kiddle, of Island City, Ore.,
a prominent ilueon of this state, who
was chosen deputy grand high priest
of the Grand Chapter, Royal Arch
Masons, at the election of officers on
Monday, will be elected worshipful
grand master of the grand lodge of
Oregon, A. T. & A. M., today. The
grand lodge will open its annual com
munication at the Masonla Temple this

for three days. At the same time and
place, Orand Chapter, Order of the
Eastern Star, will hold its annual ses
sion., J . .
The semi-annual reunion of the
Scottish Rite Masons continued In pro
gress yesterday and will end tonight
with the conferring of the S2d degree,
Philip S. Malcolm will preside. De
grees from the 18th to the (1st were
conferred yesterday, the latter degree
being conferred last night. There will
bo no sessions of the Scottish Rite re
union during this morning or after
noon. Between 400 and 500 Scottish
Rite Masons will attend the reception
tonight to the new class, after the 32d
degrees has been conferred. Visiting
32d degree Mason from other states
will also attend, as well as members
of the consistory in Oregon, in large
numbers.
