BOX IS. . :. ANNOUNGEMENT of Special Saturday Sales Something new every week ANDREWS & BERRY Saloon men of the city, or rather, a portion of them, are venting their spleen on the baseball team by play ing the "knocking" game and spread Ing the rumor that the aggregation will disband and crumble to pieces as soon as the saloons are ousted and the support from that source exhaust ed. ' ' According to an Itemized statement compiled by Grant Lincoln, he Is now about 11100 short by virtue of having financed, In the main, the baseball team thus far. Mr. Lincoln Is going to remain at the helm, but It Is read ily seen that he will need financial aid in lieu of that which he loses when the saloons cease to exist. Cal culating on good attendances here, he book account on an even break at the end of the season. The matter as It now stands Is readily deciphered: the aggregation needs a small sum In subscriptions. If the biiRlness men fail tosupport this proposition as they should, It will give the saloon men an Incentive to howl In derision. ' Already some of the merchants have been approached and, knowing as they do, the conditions an they ex ist, they come to the front liberally. Some years ago the "Iowa idea" In the matter of tariff schedules held the center of the stage. Now it la the "Ohio Idea" that promises to produce the biggest fight in the convention soon to be held at Chicago. For the Ohio Idea, ns em bodied In the tariff plnnk of the state platform. Is also the Taft Idea and the idea of the administration. The Taft and the administration forces will at tempt to write the Ohio Idea Into the national platform, and If they suc ceed In doing so, It will be only after a most terrific struggle. The Ohio Idea Is not the Idea of the old-ltners, the stand-patters, in the republican party, and they are prepared to tight It to the lent ditch. The tariff plank In the Ohio plat form was written by Wade Ellis, at torney general of Ohio. Before It was written, at least before It was pre sented to the state convention, EIIIa consulted with Taft. The plank had the unqualified endorsement of the secretary of war, and there has been no concealment of this fact. The Ohio lepubllcan platform Is Just' a much the personal platform of Taft as the Nehiuxkn democratic platform Is the personal platform of William Jennings Erjnn. It Is a distinct and definite pleilKe that the tariff tux shall not more than "cijiml tho differ ence between the cost of production at homo nnd abroad, together with a reasonable profit." THE ICE 1 1U..1.U SERVED to you here- Is ,the real thing. It' Is made with Just pure cream, sugar and flavoring, and nothing more. Drop in and have a dish of It when you are tired and thirsty. It will banish both weariness and thirst, and leave you with a memory of delicious flavor you win be glad to renew at every opportunity. For sale at A. T. II ILL. ""7 6ILVEItTIIOIN MACK.
