Pendleton, 45.
Baker City, 40.
Ontario, i.
La Grande, 4.
Cove, 1.
Ontario was the dark horse In the
Eastern Oregon track and field meet
at Baker City, In which La Grande
failed to show much strength, and
which was anybody's meet until the
relay was run, By winning 16 points,
Ontario figured consptcluously and
gave the death-scare to both Baker
City and Pendleton all too frequently.
When either of the leading teams
needed a point to gain a lead over
the other, Ontario generally managed
to steal In and carry off an honor or
two, making things extremely uncer
tain all around. Especially In the
hurdles, was this true. Moody of On
tario was leading, and would ' un
doubtedly have defeated Jay had he
not fallen on a hurdle. The fall was
disastrous to Baker City and it gave
Pendleton the meet.
La Grande lost a place In the broad
lump by the difference between
three-eighths and three-fourths of an
Inch. Reynolds ran a remarkable race
In the low hurdles. He fell twice.
but even at that finished well up In
front.
Young comes back as the team's
only salvation from utter defeat. By
winning an easy third in the pole vault
and taking second in the high hurdles
he placed La Gradne on the score
sheet.
Walters and Irwin of Island City,
gave their team a total of 7 points.
Walters won the quarter handily and
pulled a third In the 100. Irwin,
landed a third In the fast half mile
event.
The Summary.

Orle Jay, 11; Arthur Means, 9; Les
