numerous meetings' of the Indian
temperance society have been held and
many new members enrolled. Last
night a session was held lasting until
1 o'clock In the morning.
. Not only are the Indians urged to
abstain from the use. of Intoxicants,
but those in charge are working to
help out the movement for making
the city and county dry.
Under the laws of the United States
an allottee of the government Is a
citizen and is entitled to vote. In the
past the right of franchise has been
used to some extent by the Indians
and Indications point to a much
stronger redman vote than usual this
year. f

fill the position. This Is Mr. Kll
Patrick's second year at the university,
and he has won many honors as a
