N'nr Evangelist Huudenschleld preach
on "The Christian Ambition." He
poke In his usual forceful manner.
Of course, his theme was how to save
men. Every Christian should be a
soul-saver. If not. he Is useless and
there Is no such thing as a useless

his hearers to be definite In regard to
five things: Their conversion, their
consecration, their abandonment of
In, their being filled with the Holy
Spirit, and their prayers. In discuss
lng freedom from sin he said that
more people were afraid of "sinless
perfection" than of sin.
The young people's meeting at the
Baptist church was largely attended
The singing was spirited and the talks
were animated. At the evening meet
lng In the rink the crowd was larger
than at any previous meeting. The
singing led by the large choir was a
prominent feature of the meeting.
Rev. Haudenschield made a running
commentary on each of the 10 com
mandments that bristled with Invec
tive, flamed with seal, teemed with
energy and burned with intensity.
The thunders of tho law were not
softened and the lightnings of Slnal
were not veiled. The wickedness of
sin was not minimized and it has been
a long time since La Grande has heard
so stern a message. The sermon was
easily the strongest preached by the
evangelist since coming to our city,
and those who heard It will not soon
forget It. . .1
