County Commissioner Ben Brown
was down from Island City Monday on
business connected with the changing
of the county road on Clark's creek,
near the Elliott residence. The coun
ty court prqposes to make a slight
change in the location of the road that
will do away with three crossings and
cut out the expense of maintaining
three bridges. The owners of the El
liott farm are opposed to the change,
holding that It will result detrimental
to their property In that It shuts out
portion of the land from the creek,
and they are offering all the-oppoal-tlon
possible. Mr. Brown Informed a
Recorder reporter that the court
would make the change, regardless of
results,' and" that he had ordered the
supervisor of the district 'to open the
new road nnd proceed with the work
of placing It, In condition for travel.
The result Is yet to be determined.
