A noticeable thing about the audi
ence was that all who could, gathered

son was thatthere were filled with old
church pews and cftalrs. The new
seat at a few places are a little pitchy
but these can easily be avoided. The
seats are nearly all tamarack and are
as free from pitch as anyone could
exDect. An hour's work would, re-

13,000 promises In the Bible and every
one is conditional.
The text Is In Hebrews, 4th chapter.
5th verse. "Being made perfect he
became the author of eternal salvation
to all them that obey him." The theme
was obedience. There Is no salvation
without it. It is the key word of the
Bible from Genesis to ' Revelation.
Without obedience- there can be no
house, no school, no government, no
salvation. ' Nothing will make up for
obedience. Ood allows nothing used
to be substituted for it.
The first king that God chose, Saul,
lost his kingdom through disobedi
ence. Adam's lack of obedience cost
the world Its pristine purity. Every
man who ever disobeyed God suffered
for It sooner or later. There are times
when men should stop praying and
do what God tells them. Don't call
disobedience a small thing. God calls
It a great thing. ."Obedience is better
than sacrifice." . The stories of the
disobedience of Achan and Samson
were most graphically told. In fact
the most remarkable thing in the talk
of the evening was the speaker's pow
er of description. He Is probably the
most Intensely . dramatic religious
speaker on the American platform.
