SUB-DIVISIONS REFERRED TO CONSISTING OF SILICIFIED AND
CLAY SHALES, SANDSTONE. CLOSE AND COARBE GRAINED.
THE UNDERLYING FORMATIONS ARE CLAY. SANDSTdNB AND
CALCAREOUS CONCRETIONS, WHITE CALCAREOUS SHELLS. FOSSIL
IFEROC8 CONCRETIONS. CARBONIFEROUS LIME AND LIME SHALE.
THE FORMATION GENERALLY IS SUCH AS TO GIVE THE LANDS IN
QUESTION A HIGH CHARACTER AS LANDS PECULIAR TO OIL FOR
MATIONS ON THE PACIFIC COAST.
THE SANDSTONE STRATA IS IMPREGNATED AND STAINED
WITH DEPOSITS WHICH WOULD RESULT FROM SUCH SOURCE.

Is now being held by the authorities
at Huntington and will have to an
