last evening perpetrated a robbery
near the sugar factory, which for
boldness and success Is seldom equal

the two rijTtU'd their pockets, .Mr.
Piatt iCucIng about J155 nnd the
other gentleman about ' 335. Two
watches of no particular value, were
among the presents to tin; hold-up
men.
On reaching La Grande the alarm
was given, but it is presumed the men
had boarded an outgoing train, as the
robbery was committed Just prior to
8 o'clock, thus leaving ample oppur
tunlty for the men to get out.
Arrests at linker.
Two men wero arrested In Baker
City last night on Information wired
to the police there, but on careful
search and scrutiny It was learned
the suspects were Innocent, and 'not
the men wanted here.
The officers have but meagre de
scription to work with. The men
were not masked, but for all that the
victims are unable to fully picture
their appearances.
ROOFING
' You can lay it yourself. It's
not bird -work and it dotn't take
long. After it's done, it's done for
a long, long time. Storms won't
it, heat won't soften it or make it
brittle. - It can t rot, rust, corrode,
creep or leak. It is the "Never'
Leak Roofing." -
Write for sample. That will tell
the (tor better than words.

:THE DEMAND FOR PROPERTY IN:
RIVERSIDE
:NEAR THE BIG SAW MILL:
has become so great, that it has been decided to advance the price on lots In that
addition. ' . . .,- ,.. . .......
. ' ';';'
By comparing the prices at which lota in Riv:rslde Addition have been sell
ing, with the prices of similar property in other sections of the city, it will be found
that lots in Riverside Addition have been selling at too low a figure.
Before'advancing the price, however, it has been deemed only fair to give due
warning to those who have been contemplating buying, but who have been delaying
from time to time, therefore , .
E NOTICE
that during the remainder of this month (April), prices will remain the samp as here
tofore, but on the first day of May there will be a general advance of 10 per cent in X
prices, therefore all those who wish to take advantage of this advance must buy this
month.
Special Inducements will he given those who build this season houses cost
ing $1000.00 or more. ' , t ...,.-,.
