The entries for the musical content to
be held at Whitman college In about
i month, close today.- A large num
ber of contestant Is expected at the
ontest, which will be held ' In the
Whitman Memorial chapel April 21
ind 24. ; '
This contest Is believed to be the
first of Its kind ever held In the North
seat and Is attracting the attention
of music teachers and students all
over this section. Each music teacher
In three states Is Invited to send one
representative for each of the depart
ments of the contest, although many
Will be represented In only one depart
ment or two. Contests will be held In
vocal, piano,' organ and violin. . '
The prizes are four in number and
aggregate 11400. The winner In each
department la awarded a scholarship
which covers all the principal ex
penses of a year In the'Conservatory of
Music, Including al tuition fees, and
board and room in one of the college
dormitories. Each of these scholar
ships Is of a value of 1150.

Three Skeletons Found.
Three skeletons were found In Walla
Walla yesterday, two by F. M. Duggar,
In charge of the county chain gang, on
the Garden City heights, and the other
near the city park. How the bodies
happened to be burled In these places
cannot be accounted for. They were
taken charge of by Coroner McMartln,
and will be Interred In the county
cemetery. Walla Walla Bulletin.
